Description

Maurice Vigouroux had the idea of hiding miniature puzzles inside regular ones.
The Matryoshka burr used Alfons Eyckman's Lange Wapper Casino as an outside shell for 4 inner micro-caged burrs.
Now, it is the turn of Gregory Benedetti's Blind Burr to host a little gem inside !

Some of you may already know Gregory's Blind Burr. It was in the top ten vote getters in the 2012 IPP puzzle design competition.
From the outside, it looks like an ordinary burr, but the opening mechanism is completely unexpected.

The Blind Burr sold here is one of the very few that were made in bloodwood. The regular series was limited to 50 numbered copies in purpleheart, but there were no more than 6 or 7 bloodwood copies ever made. This is one of them.

The inner puzzle is Stephane Chomine's Chateau d'If, a regular caged burr, a bit difficult. This tiny one measures 2.4 cm and is made in purpleheart, with a cage in ebony.

Once you manage to open the Blind Burr, the Chateau d'If appears and remains to be solved.
When the Chateau d'If is inside the Blind Burr, its pieces may move and prevent the Blind Burr to operate normally. Finding how to operate the Blind Burr in spite of the presence of moving pieces inside adds a layer of difficulty to the original challenge.
Never use force on this puzzle, you might break the fragile pieces of the Chateau d'If. The mechanism was controlled. It works with no force at all and cannot jam.

The puzzle can be shipped with a regular cube inside and the micro-Chateau d'If outside, or with the micro-Chateau d'If inside.
